We built Process to be a safe space for creative sharing. This policy explains what data we collect and why.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you create an account:
Your username
Your email (for password recovery only)
Your password (encrypted—we can't see it)
When you use the app:
The photos, videos, and audio you post
Your reflections (images, gestures, colors, sounds, emojis)
Your profile bio and settings
Which posts you've viewed (so we can show you new content)
Technical data (anonymous):
Device type and OS version
App crashes (so we can fix bugs)
Basic usage stats (to improve the app)
We never track your location. We never access your contacts. We never sell your data to anyone.
HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
To show your posts to other users (when your profile is public)
To let you see others' posts
To send you password reset emails
To improve app performance
To keep the app safe from spam and abuse
That's it. We don't use your data for advertising. We don't build profiles to sell. We don't train AI models on your content.
WHO SEES YOUR DATA
Your content visibility:
Public profile: Anyone using Process can see your posts
Private profile: Only approved followers see your posts
You can change this anytime in Settings
We share your data with:
Convex (our database provider) - stores your posts securely
Cloud storage (AWS/similar) - stores your images, videos, audio
No one else, unless required by law
We will never share, sell, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can:
Download all your data (email shareprocessapp@gmail.com)
Delete specific posts anytime
Delete your entire account (Settings > Delete Account)
Make your profile private
Block other users
When you delete your account:
All your posts are deleted within 30 days
Your reflections on others' posts remain (they're part of those creative threads, but will show "original creator unavailable")
Your username becomes available for others to use
REFLECTIONS & THREADS
Important: When someone creates a reflection on your post, that reflection belongs to them. If you delete your original post, their reflection may remain (it becomes part of the creative record, even if the original is gone).
This is intentional—reflections are first-class works of art, not comments.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
You must be 13+ to use Process.
We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover we have, we'll delete it immediately. Parents: email processapp@gmail.com with concerns.
SECURITY
Your password is encrypted
Your data is stored on secure servers
We use industry-standard security practices
But no system is 100% secure—use a strong, unique password
COOKIES & TRACKING
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We use minimal technical cookies to keep you logged in. That's it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we make significant changes, we'll email you and post a notice in the app. Continued use means you accept the new policy.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using Process, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 13 years old to use Process. If you're under 18, you need parental permission.
YOUR ACCOUNT
You're responsible for your account security
Use a strong password and don't share it
You're responsible for all activity on your account
One account per person
CONTENT RULES
You may not post content that:
Is illegal, harmful, or threatening
Infringes copyright or intellectual property rights
Contains nudity or sexual content
Promotes violence, hate speech, or harassment
Is spam or misleading
Violates others' privacy
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules.
YOUR CONTENT
You own your content (photos, videos, reflections)
By posting, you grant Process a license to display your content in the app
You can delete your content at any time
Deleted content is removed from our servers within 30 days
REFLECTIONS ON YOUR WORK
When someone creates a reflection on your post:
Their reflection is their own content
If you delete your original post, reflections may remain (marked as "original unavailable")
You cannot delete others' reflections
PROHIBITED CONDUCT
You may not:
Harass, bully, or harm other users
Impersonate others
Scrape or data mine the app
Attempt to hack or disrupt the service
Use the app for commercial purposes without permission
REPORTING & MODERATION
Report violations by long-pressing the three dots on a post and selecting "Report"
We review reports within 24 hours
Violations may result in content removal or account suspension
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Process name, logo, and app design are our intellectual property
You may not use our branding without permission
Respect others' copyrights and trademarks
DISCLAIMERS
Process is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee:
Uninterrupted service
Error-free operation
Data backup (back up your work!)
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We are not liable for:
Lost content or data
Damages from app use
Third-party content or conduct
Your sole remedy is to stop using the app.
CHANGES TO TERMS
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notification. Continued use means you accept the new Terms.
TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in San Francisco County, California.
